The Volusia County Intergroup has four important committees which service our community and Intergroup.
They are Archives, Finance, Group Relations and Website.
We also periodically setup ad-hoc or special committees to accomplish the necessary tasks assumed by Intergroup.
Their descriptions and definitions are defined at the time of their inception.
Each committee's primary purpose is to carry the message to the still suffering alcoholic, but the three active committees also have specific definitions as shown on the following pages:
Office volunteers answer the phone and sell merchandise. They do not do "12-step" calls.
This is a term used to describe a group of volunteers who answer the AA Hotline when the office is closed. Calls to the Hotline are routed to their home or cell. Phone Army volunteers don’t "12-step" callers; they dispatch a help call to someone on the 12th Stepper list and provide general info regarding meeting locations, etc.
This is a term used to describe a group of volunteers who are willing to help another alcoholic. 12 Steppers are always contacted by Volusia County Intergroup or phone army volunteers. Click here for additional info on 12 Steppers
The names and phone numbers of all Volunteers are maintained by Volusia County Intergroup. All volunteers are instructed to never, under any circumstances, disclose to anyone, information about people on the volunteer list.

The 12 step form is for any of the above volunteer positions, Office, Phone Army or 12 Steppers.

The Archives Committee consists of an Archivist and assistant Archivist. It is responsible for the preservation, storage and documentation of the local AA history and to attend functions and display our archives to the AA community.
The Finance Committee consists of the Intergroup Treasurer and four AA members. The Finance Committee is to advise the Steering Committee of Volusia County Intergroup Services, Inc. on all matters pertaining to finance and help maintain our accountability.
The Group Relations Committee consists of the Committe Chair, who works directly with the DCM's of the Districts served by Volusia County Intergroup.
The purpose of this committee is to maintain a listing of all groups, with contact information at the Volusia County Intergroup Office.

The Website Committee consists of the Webmaster, the Assistant Webmaster, one Trustee, and two Intergroup Representatives. The purpose of the Internet Web Site is to carry the message of Alcoholics Anonymous by providing a resource on the Internet, where alcoholics can get information about the activities and meetings in Volusia County. Other important Committees which service our local AA community are, Accessibilities, Corrections, and Treatment.
These committees are hosted and operated by the various Districts served by Volusia County Intergroup, and are listed here as a service to support our local AA community.

Your information will be passed along to the committee in which you are interested in serving.
You do not have to be a member of any group within the District that hosts these committees.
